Some Sought Sanctuary: Some Found It is an odd title, especially for a modern record. The idea behind the music is equally different from the typical. The record looks at the passage from death to the afterlife. We start at the moment of death and move through a few states before crossing to the next stage.

This is the only way Indie musicians get support for the work done.
Tracks:
- The Day That Will Come – Humans only have 22,000 days, so one of those days will be the last. The living hold a ceremony and we, the deceased, have to move house.
- Carved Angels – I don’t think we invest so freely in death furniture as we used to, which is a shame as the angel statues are beautiful.
- 15 Years – This is the morbid one: the squidgy bits take 10-15 years to dissipate, leaving only dry skeletons.
- The Graveyard Shuffle – Who doesn’t get a giggle from dancing skeletons.
- Some Sought Sanctuary – According to ghost lovers, some dead spirits look to move on while others look for retribution (or understanding) and get stuck.
- Some Found It – Going into the light is the cliche; maybe that is what it is like.
- Eternal Rest – This is the promise we hope for after the tiring struggles of living.
- Moving to the Summerland – Eventually, all energy must move. We don’t know where or how, but the energy that is a person must go somewhere. The idea of the Summerland is as good as any.

The video above is the final artwork. The teaser video on the left shows the concept sketches made to decide which we wanted to progress to the final. Any could have worked nicely.
Musically this is typical for me, including some mixture of styles. All sounds, compositions, and mixing in early 2024 using Reason 12 and mostly Europa, Thor, Algoritm, and Subtractor. Effects were mostly stock Reason devices with help from my own VST.

I listen to a lot of ambient/electronic music and this is right up with the best. I didn’t read the liner notes so I don’t know who’s playing. Is it all you?
It’s a musical brush with greatness kind of week for me. I have a friend, a very nice young lady who works in the shop where I get my smoke, who just put out an EP this month. It’s her first record so needless to say she’s a bit excited. Look for noirette or Leivi Angelin on you tube if you are interested. Congratulations on a great piece of work.
Thanks Mr Nines. Great praise. Yes it is all me (and my mouse).
Found your young miss. Grace Jones plays sax!!! I assume not THAT Grace Jones. Pretty nicely produced record with variety. I will have to listen more fully later…
