in which A → B and returns to A
No AI – No Loops – No Samples
The phrase “in which A → B and returns to A” is related to a cipher – apparently dated back to Julia Squeezer. Although this has nothing to do with ciphers as such, the concept still applies, as it is all about transformation. How events transform something into something close but not the same. Once those forces abate, the thing returns to its natural state.

Technical
As always, all sounds, compositions, mixing, mastering etc was done by me using Reason 13.5 (no sign of AI yet yay).
Part of what drove the approach to this album was listening to one of my older albums, “Double Space” and liking the feel. It was a bit darker and more sound/style driven than more recent works.
Most of the drums on this album were made in a synth – no samples, just one synth patch for the whole kit. This is a very old technique, not heard often these days. A shame because it can be very cool. Definitely different from the usual EDMmery.
Tracks are named after the order in which composed → album position. I will admit I was sorely tempted to simply call all of them “transform”, but giving every piece the same name may have been a bit obtuse, even for me.
