1995 – album as Column 3-57

After 1st Campaign I figured I might as well write an album that sounded just like me. If writing for other people didn’t work then I might as well write purely for myself, be true to my muse and all that.
The result is a combination of 70’s and 80’s style electronic music with a mix of songs and pieces. The album title is a play on Bowie’s Moonage Daydream from Ziggy Stardust.
The first track, Imago was used in a short film about a community center. It was strange to watch old people being kept amused with cards and table tennis backed by my music.
Tag: We make machines in our image, then blame them for not being human enough. One day we’ll all live as humans.
Synthetic Dreamer is musically very representative of the album and also the album concept in the vocoded lyric about a factory robot that is bolted to the floor yet dreams about having a life like a human. This is the track that lead to the drawing on the cover. The error at the start of the lyric is where the Boss SE-70 effects unit had to switch patches.
