My Approach
My approach is more like the classic Producers & Mix Engineers – more personal and hands-on than the usual suspects these days. You can’t get different without being different.
As the Mix Engineer or Record Producer, it is my role to help your record flow so well that people who hear it want to be involved in your story. They want to hear & feel it again, come to shows, and wear the t-shirt next time they leave the house.
If you are ready to change your game: Continue the conversation about working with me on your record with the form on the Contact page.
Prices will be discussed after I understand the full nature of the project and if we are a good fit. The more I know about you, the better I will help you shine.
If not, that is ok, I have plenty of material to help below and on my Tutorial page.
Wise men say, only fools rush in.
No A.I. – No AutoTune – No Presets
Album & EP Production
I mastered the first two Easy Peasy albums from Charlie Ploughman’s mixes. “I Love Avocado” went straight to #1 on the ABC For Kids channel.
Jane Is Not Afraid is a collab where I deeply Produced the vision and outcomes for a first-time singer & songwriter’s EP.
Feedback

I can absolutely recommend Benedict for his ability to not only mix, but to serve the song and artist at every level from idea to finished product. Hiring Benedict is what took me from dreaming about releasing music to getting the result I wanted and having the confidence to get out there. If you’re looking for someone to help take your music to the next level and show you where you can improve to reach your goal, Benedict is the man for the job!

Charlie Ploughman – Mix Engineer Easy Peasy
Dr. Randal Stewart has a podcast reading government policy reviews. The first report we did was on the Ruby Princess debacle that let a COVID ship disperse hundreds of exposed people into an island nation.
I have just listened to half chapter 3 on my walk this morning. I am overwhelmed by your brilliant editing and sound engineering. It sounds fantastic. I have had enormous faith in your professionalism from the beginning. Thanks. Dr. Randal G Stewart

How I Mix
This first video shows the mindset with which I approach mixing. The Mix Walkthrough videos below detail all the decisions made within the Story of the Song. All of these videos are long as they are lectures, not adverts. If wanting to see comparisons, they are early in each video and noted in chapter headings.
Learning
If looking for free advice on how to do the music thing, I have a lot of material on a Tutorials page as well as on my YouTube. You may wish to start with one of these learning arcs:
Develop Effective Music Basics

A deep yet simple & liberating look into the key steps in making every music-making session effective so that your music just works. There is still work to be done but this method is tried & true and puts the control in your hands. Works for all genres.
A Song from Writing to Release

A collection of videos covering the basics of what is needed to go from start to finish in having a song or album in the real world. I will not pretend it is all easy as it is a lot of work. This is however what will get a rounded result that you can be proud of.
